AUPHEUS EXCAVATED EP - OUT NOW

2600's second release of 2010 is also the second solo release from London-based veteran DJ/Producer Aupheus . Aupheus honed his skills with hip hop crew Dedfires until the release of his critically acclaimed self-released solo EP Descent. He has strong connections with the Sage Francis helmed Strange Famous Records; winning the heavily contested Buck 65 Shutterbuggin' remix competition in 2007 and continuing to produce tracks for Buck 65 (for the 'Dirtbike' album trilogy) and Sage Francis ('Sea Legs') last year.

Over Excavated's 8 tracks Aupheus unearths found sounds, obscure vinyl breaks and field recordings which he then manipulates through sampling and turntable techniques, adding live instrumentation.   The result is an immersive, multi-layered merging of traditional world and ethnic influences with heavy electronic drones and tones, ambient textures and crunchy hip hop beats.

We are proud to present the latest release by veteran graffiti artist and producer Remdog. The Marabu Series EP (inspired by the spray-paints of the same name) continues and expands on the heavy, layered electronics of his previous releases.

Remdog has taken seven of the Marabu Series colours as inspiration for a tight EP of synth-laden glitch-hop; drum clicks and dark geometric waves merge to create synesthesiac club head-nodders.

Everything in this mix is from such DIY labels, some bigger than others and some acts more obscure than others too, but all united by the fact that their music was released for the love of physical media in an age of downloads.
